If you're on a strict diet, but a real pasta lover, you dont have to worry about weight gain when you eat some. You can still lose weight through a low-fat, high-carbohydrate and low-calorie diet. This of course, includes a controlled serving, plus exercise.
However, there is no quick and easy way to lose weight - it is basically a question of calories taken in versus calories burned. So, eating too much of any food can make you gain weight. Complex carbohydrates are not fattening but what you add to them are: butter, margarine, sour cream, mayonnaise, gravies and cream sauces. Always be reminded that a gram of fat contains nine calories which is more than twice the calories of a gram of carbohydrates.
The reality is that, all calories count, so, no mater if you eat fat-free foods, you may still find yourself gaining weight, and even bloated.
However, there are still ways to know if you're eating the right way and the right food. Eat six to 11 daily servings from the grain group, this is highly recommended by different food experts here and abroad. Since the ideal serving of grains is a half cup of cooked pasta or cereal, or a slice of bread, most of us eat more than one serving at any given meal. Like, one cup portion of pasta is equivalent to two servings from the grain group.
