The Sandurot Festival
is a celebration held annually during the city's charter day anniversary and
fiesta. It is a festival, which retraces the history of the coming of foreign
people to the shores of Dumaguete, which eventually molded the place, its
people, and their way of life, to what they are now.
The Sandurot festival
is comprised of the re-enactment, held right on the shore of the boulevard,
street dancing, and a contest of the different participating contingents.
The Sandurot is
usually participated by the different barangays, schools, and other government
and non-government organizations. It is a lively, colorful affair, most awaited
by the citizens of Dumaguete.

annual celebration depicting friendship & unity of the diff. regional and
foreign influences w/c compose the residents of Dumaguete.
Held annually during the city’s
fiesta celebration, it features nightly cultural shows and balls, trade fairs
and carnival, beauty pageant, and sports competition. The festival will be along
the Rizal Boulevard where the streetdancing will be held. This is also the time
where the lighting of the city’s Christmas displays will be done.
